The 2012 - 2013 Academic Year Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Scholarship application package has been posted to the MOPH website: www.purpleheart.org. To download a copy click on Programs at the top of the homepage, then Scholarships from the drop down box .Alternatively, you may request that a copy be mailed to you by calling (703)642-5360.
In order for an applicant to be eligible to apply he/she must be: (1) a recipient of the Purple Heart and a member of the MOPH, or (2) the spouse, widow or direct lineal descendant (child, step child, or adopted child or grandchild) of a member of the MOPH, or (3) the spouse, widow,or direct lineal descendant of a service member who was killed in action or died of wounds and never had a chance to join the MOPH complete list of application requirements can be found in the application package.
Last year the MOPH Scholarship Committee received just over 400 applications and awarded 83 $3000 scholarships to highly qualified MOPH members, their spouses and lineal descendants. The MOPH Scholarship Program offers a great chance for qualified individuals to further their education at a U.S. college, university or tradeschool.
