The last meeting of 2011 for Alamo Chapter 1836 celebrated the announcement of upcoming events for December to include the ECTC (Extended Care Theory Center) Christmas Party at Audie Murphy VA Hospital, and Chapter Christmas Party at VFW Post 8541 on Austin Hwy. and next year’s upcoming Founder’s Day Dinner at Fort Sam Houston Golf Center building. U.S. Army South Commanding General U.S. Army South Maj. Gen. Simeon G. Trombitas at Ft. Sam Houston is schedule to be the guest speaker at the annual Founder’s Day Dinner. The Chapter‘s Adjutant, Bill Johnson, is actively seeking RSVPs from the members for these 2 events. He currently has 30 RSVPs for the Christmas Party but anticipates a good turnout. He needs the number of guests in order to turn in the amount to the food preparers. The party costs $20 per person. $30 per person. for Founder’s Day on17th of February. After the opening formalities, a new member was present. Afghanistan Army veteran Alex Johnson was on hand to introduce himself and give a short bio on his overseas time on the front lines. Patriot Pete Bishop, a longtime member and past commander was back from medical absence. The Chapter members gave a loud round of applause and were clearly glad to see him. Vice Commander Raymond Vinezie thanked all volunteer members that attended and helped with the WDSC Thanksgiving Dinner. December 2nd was the Dept of Texas State Conference in San Angelo, Tx. See Dept Commander’s Notes. A group called the BB Troop Singers are the entertainment for the ECTC Xmas Party and the Founder’s Day Dinner. The ECTC party, 12 Dec, is starting a 6pm at the second floor break room at ECTC and the veterans and guests will be served Tamales and Chili and the BB Troop is going to do a Christmas music entertainment. A decoration event for ECTC will be held on Thursday Dec.
